keepsake, n.

Anything kept or given to be kept for the sake of, or in remembrance of, the giver (Oxford English Dictionary).

So a keepsake might be something which reminds you of someone, or maybe a place or a special occcasion (although then it is tehcnially a memento rather than a keepsake, but we're not going to split hairs about it).

This cushion was made for a local boat-owner whose father was closely involved with the RNLI for many years. It is made from a tea-towel bought from the local lifeboat station (thereby raising more money for the cause).

The tea towel was big enough for two cushions - see detail from the other (right hand image). The backs were a simple cotton drill finished with an invisible zip.
Another request was for a cushion to be made out a couple of favourite shirts. There are lots of possibilities. Of course, we can make things for you or you can add that personal touch by coming along to one of our workshops and making it yourself.
